Frequently Asked Questions !!
What are Ascent Caring's hours of operation? Are you available on evenings and weekends?
Ascent Caring is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can contact us by phone or email at any time, including evenings and weekends.
Can I be assured of the employees you send to me?
Absolutely! At Ascent Caring™, our employees go through a rigorous recruitment process that includes assessments of their knowledge and expertise. Before starting employment with us, they must provide professional references, and their credentials are verified. We are proud members of the Ontario Home Health Care Providers Association, ensuring our commitment to providing reliable and qualified caregivers.
I have a family member who is in their own home and terminally ill. Can you help me care for her?
If your family member wishes to remain in their home and requires additional care, the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) can assess their needs. They can initiate service for your loved one as required. Additionally, you may purchase services such as shopping, companionship, and cooking privately through our company or other service providers in your community.
What is the difference between registered staff and non-registered staff?
Registered staff are certified by the College of Nurses of Ontario and are accountable for meeting professional practice standards. They provide nursing care and other specialized services. Personal Support Workers (PSWs) are home support workers who provide personal care, light housekeeping, shopping, and companionship in homes and facilities.
My father is in the hospital and will be there for a while. How can you help?
When your father is discharged, a member of our clinical team will contact you to discuss your specific needs. He may require the services of a PSW, and the hours of service can be arranged to suit your preferences, from a minimum of three hours up to twenty-four hours of care. Our employees are supervised by a nurse manager, ensuring quality care and support.
Do you have a minimum number of hours per day for which you can be contacted?
Yes, typically the minimum is three hours per day. However, in special circumstances, we can arrange for less, depending on the availability of our employees in your local area. We are committed to meeting your specific needs and providing the necessary support.
